Minutes of the Meeting

3:10PM Elan Moas agreed to
record the minutes of the meeting.
3:15PM Jay Shapiro announced
requirement of $360. donation or equivalent in fund raising within 60
days. Furthermore it was noted that the membership application needs
to be corrected to reflect a $360. business membership fee as
opposed to the $500. fee currently in print on the membership
application.
3:20PM Jay Shapiro appointed
himself as President, Elan Moas as Treasurer, & Eyal Cohen as
Chairman of the Board. Discussed the role of board members and
shared a brief introduction with those present at the meeting.
3:30PM Conference call with
Mikael Besnainou who went over a brief background of the chamber and
answered some questions pertaining benefits, membership, &
support that the national chamber offers to the local chapters. Also
discussed were some some variables in chapter membership with respect
to paid members, active members, databases, & volunteer members.
4:15PM Small personal
introduction speech given by every person present at the meeting.
4:30PM By unanimous vote the
chamber elected: Israel Barrocas as Public Relations Chair, Alex
Sender as Community Relations Chair, Alan Federman as a board member,
& Michael Brooker as a board member.
4:45PM Chamber discussed
creating an email database, agreed to vote two members off of the
board of directors based on non-attendance and non-interest. Voted
off the Board are: Candice Phillips, & Iftach Michaeli.
4:50PM Chamber voted to approve
a membership for ITEX.com based on the fact that it will cut down on
costs associated with printing and it will help us to grow our
membership with little to no cost. Chamber also agreed to look into
utilizing Roberts Rules of the Meeting as a governing guideline for
chamber meetings. Chamber agreed to allow Chairman of the Board
Eyal Cohen to operate as our secretary until such time as we elect a
permanent secretary.
5:20PM Chamber celebrated with a
champagne toast. Chamber agreed to hold its next board of directors
at the same office on Sunday, January 18th 2008 at 8pm
2009.

July 2009 - Official
Nomination of Board Members under the completely new organization
J.A.C.O.B. - Jewish American Chamber of Business. Former Corp JACC
to be dissolved. Discuss approving some varied events such as:
Spaghetti Banqut, Bagels & Coffee, Annual Dinner, Chanukah
Event, & Chamber Biz Expo.
November 2009 Have a
membership plan in place, along with corporate sponsorship levels,
recruit a membership director as a commissioned staff employee. Have
1st paid chamber membership sold by December 1st
starting with board memberss & officers. Staff volunteers are
exempt from the requirement to pay. Have a bank account opened.
Also add a community relations director to the board of directors.
March 2010 Have 50 paid
memberships sold, print & distribute the membership directory
and lease affordable or donated office space with answering service
for membership sales staff and board of directors.
July 2010 - Have solid
reputation in the community and big name chamber sponsors such as the
local cadillac dealer, kosher wine distributors, EL-Al, Office Depot,
etc.
November 2010 - Have 200 paid
memberships, bring the membership director position to fulltime
status as a salesperson meeting with business people every day of the
week.
July 2011 Rent a corporate
headquarters office with room for conference table, a room to hold 50
people for networking events and 3 small offices for secretary,
membership sales, and misc. 300 Paid memberships.
December 2011 500 paid
membership.
2012 - Continued strong growth
with processes streamlined. 1000 paid memberships.
2013 - Continued strong growth
with processes streamlined. 1800 pail memberhips.
2014 - Continued strong growth
with processes streamlined. 3300 paid memberhips.
2015 - Have over 5000 paid
memberships making J.A.C.O.B. The largest paid membership
organization in South Florida which is actually based on South
Florida. Also largest organization with ratio of board members &
staff to paid membership. The strong ratio will enable us to have
such a positive cash flow that we can evolve into sponsoring the more
exciting things such as: sponsoring a golf hole, hosting a tennis
tournament, traveling to Israel with chamber staff, donating
scholarships and much much more as voted on by our board of
directors.
