The First Annual Int'l Olive Oil Fest will be held on March 8th and 9th of 2008. With a whole day of exhibitor setup on Friday March 7th. The event will be hosted both indoors and outdoors at the newly renovated War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We plan to host over 200 exhibitors, 25 chefs, 250 different brands of olive oil from all over the world and over 20,000. olive oil loving patrons. The Olive Oil Fest plans to offer food and fun for everyone. olive oil tasting competitions, vendor booths, wine tasting, live ethnic music from olive oil producing nations, performances such as: Tarantella dancing, Greek and Israeli dancing, belly dancing, Chilean & Argentinian folk dancing, bocce ball etc. Also, agricultural booths, and other food exhibits in related food industries including: Wine, Vinegar, Pesto, Olive Products, Bakeries and Bread, Organic Grocers, Restaurants etc.

International Olive Oil Festival selects Fort Lauderdale as host city.
Festival scheduled for March, 2008
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April, 2007, Fort Lauderdale, FL. The International Olive Oil Festival, March 8-9, 2008 has selected Fort Lauderdale as its host city. The event will feature over 250 different brands of olive oil from Italy, Greece, France, Israel, Chile, Argentina, Morocco, Spain, Jordan, Turkey, and the United States.
Complimentary products such as tomatoes, pesto, pasta, wine, truffles, vinegars, olives, tapas, cosmetics, breads, and organic food products. In addition to food sampling, the event will feature live music, dancing, cooking demonstrations, an olive oil tasting competition, a recipe contest. Additionally International sporting demonstrations such as Italian olive pit spitting, bocce ball, Turkish olive oil wrestling, Argentine Tango Performers and much more.
The City of Fort Lauderdale was selected over five other possible venues due to its weather, strategic international business location, and supportive response from the city and local sponsors. The War Memorial Auditorium was chosen because it offers 20,000. square feet of newly renovated indoor exhibitor space, unlimited outdoor exhibitor space and an elevated stage for live performances.
